Paths of the South Retreat — Jaguar & Condor

1st - 15th April & July 2026

Fifteen days in Colombia guided by ancestral medicines, ancient plant baths, crystal-clear rivers, Yagé (Ayahuasca) ceremonies, and encounters with Mamos from the Sierra Nevada.

Welcome to a Journey of Awakening & Transformation

Entering this retreat is entering a path where the jungle, water, fire, and the mountain become living teachers. A deep journey that unites two worlds in Colombia: the warm jungle of Antioquia and the cold, silent wisdom of Ubaté. Here, the body is cleansed, the mind becomes clear, and the spirit remembers who it is. This retreat has been created for those seeking real transformation, authentic spiritual guidance, and a return to their roots.

We — Carlos and Sofia — have spent many years walking alongside Indigenous teachers, receiving guidance that has shaped how we hold space for journeys of this depth. This work has emerged through lived experience and relationships rooted in trust. It is a calling that has shaped our lives, and one we now open to those who feel the pull to remember the truth already living within their body and soul.

This retreat is not for everyone. It is for those who feel the invitation beyond the mind — those who recognize the call to step into sacred territory, to be guided with integrity, and to enter a process held by living lineages, the land itself, and experienced facilitators devoted to walking this path with care.

Upcoming Dates 2026

1st April - 15th April

1st July - 15th July

Retreat Flow & Daily Rhythm

Rather than a rigid timetable, this retreat follows a carefully curated rhythm that honours the body, the medicines, the land, and each participant’s integration process. Below is an overview of how the 15-day journey unfolds, offering clarity while preserving the organic nature of ceremonial work.

The Journey at a Glance

15-Day Immersive Retreat
Zafra Natural Reserve (San Rafael, Antioquia) & Ubaté (Cundinamarca)

This retreat is held across two sacred territories, each supporting a distinct phase of the process:

  • Days 1–10: Deep immersion in the jungle at Zafra Natural Reserve — preparation, Yagé (Ayahuasca) ceremonies, learning, and integration with plant medicines and the elements.

  • Days 11–15: Harmonisation and closing in Ubaté with the Mamos — ancestral wisdom, energetic alignment, and grounding the work into daily life.

Days 1–10 · Zafra Natural Reserve

Preparation, Ceremony & Integration in the Jungle

Life at Zafra follows a gentle yet intentional daily rhythm, guided by the natural environment.

Mornings are dedicated to grounding and preparation through conscious movement, breathwork, river baths, and meditation. Nourishing breakfasts support detoxification and readiness for the day’s work.

Late mornings and afternoons are devoted to learning, embodiment, and exploration, including:

  • Workshops on jungle plant medicine and natural remedies

  • Preparation of spiritual baths, perfumes, and ancestral medicines

  • Teachings on the elements, body communication, and life-story integration

  • Nature walks and meditations

  • Integration spaces for rest, reflection, and guided sharing

Evenings are ceremonial and contemplative. On designated nights, participants take part in Yagé (Ayahuasca) ceremonies guided by Taita Mayor Isidrio of the Cófan lineage. Other evenings include fire circles, tobacco teachings, storytelling, and jungle plant baths to support cleansing and energetic alignment.

Throughout this phase, integration is prioritised. Gentle afternoons, rest days, and river time allow insights to settle into the body and nervous system.

The jungle phase culminates with:

  • A Temazcal ceremony, symbolising rebirth and renewal

  • A communal closing dinner

  • A tobacco blessing and orientation for the transition to the next territory

Day 10 · Transition Day

We will travel from San Rafael toward Medellín and onward to Ubaté. This day acts as a bridge, allowing the body and psyche to gently shift from deep jungle immersion into the highlands.

Days 11–15 · Ubaté

Harmonising Body, Mind & Spirit with the Mamos

The final phase of the retreat takes place on the land of the Mamos, where the work becomes more subtle, energetic, and integrative.

The daily rhythm in Ubaté includes:

  • Morning body-connection meditations

  • Sacred rituals for balance, cleansing, and alignment at powerful natural sites

  • Planting work and offerings to the land

  • Preparation of remedies with sacred plants from the Sierra Nevada

  • Evenings around the fire with songs, ancestral stories, and spiritual conversations that extend until the early morning

One day is devoted to a pilgrimage to Villa de Leyva, a sacred Muisca territory, offering an opportunity to integrate the teachings within a different ancestral landscape.

The retreat closes with a final blessing, plant bathes, and farewell ceremony, supporting participants to return home grounded, aligned, and carrying the medicine forward into daily life.

A Living Schedule

This retreat follows a living schedule. Specific timings and activities may shift to honour the needs of the group, the guidance of the elders, and the intelligence of the medicines. This flexibility is an essential part of working in integrity with ancestral traditions and the natural world.

"A year ago, I shared a beautiful retreat at the Zafra Reserve in Colombia. It marked a very significant beginning for me, the prelude to a year of self-discovery and integration that I am still processing. I learned about remedies, rituals, and prayers that have helped me along this path. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity that the universe has given me. And I am very certain that in its divine time, we will meet again around the fire, accompanied by the medicines, guides, and fraternal love that characterize them! Thank you and a thousand blessings always!"

Venues

This retreat unfolds across two distinct territories, each offering a different quality of connection, pace, and relationship with the land. Together, they guide participants through a deep journey of grounding and remembrance.

Zafra Natural Reserve – San Rafael, Antioquia

Days 1–10

The first part of the retreat takes place at Zafra Natural Reserve, a hidden sanctuary nestled among deep mountains and rivers of pure water in San Rafael, Antioquia. This is a territory where the jungle still breathes like an ancient being — alive with birdsong, lush green pathways, and a silence that gently embraces the heart.

Located in the Camelias area, just a few kilometers from San Rafael, Zafra spans approximately 30–35 protected hectares of premontane humid forest, rivers, and jungle ecosystems. The reserve was created as a space for flora and fauna conservation, conscious coexistence with the land, and life in harmony with nature.

Accommodation at Zafra is simple, ecological, and intentionally designed to respect the environment. The cabins are built using natural materials such as guadua bamboo, wood, and bahareque, and offer both private and shared rooms. This setting supports deep rest while maintaining an authentic, nature-immersed experience.

Zafra promotes conscious living and responsible tourism, offering local, healthy organic food, sustainable construction, dry toilets, reforestation initiatives, and environmentally respectful practices.

Zafra is not simply a place to stay—it is a living sanctuary. A protected space where the body can soften, the mind can become still, and the spirit can remember. Far from noise and distraction, and close to the origin, participants spend ten days immersed in a natural refuge designed to support deep spiritual, physical, and emotional restoration.

Mountains of Ubaté – Ancestral Territory of the Mamos

Days 11–15

The second part of the retreat takes place in the mountains of Ubaté, where we are welcomed into the ancestral territory of the Mamos. This phase of the journey offers a more elemental and ceremonial way of living, in direct relationship with the land and its traditions.

During this five-day period, participants will sleep in hammocks inside the maloka, honoring a traditional form of rest and community living. This experience is an intentional return to simplicity, presence, and shared space as a way of deepening connection with nature and ancestral wisdom.

Ubaté is a cold, wide, and silent place, surrounded by soft mountains, mist, and pure air. Its energy contrasts with the jungle: everything here is slower, whiter, more airy. It is a territory where the cold cleans, awakens, and forces the body to be more present. Mornings are blue, afternoons filled with wind, and nights deeply star-filled.

This second location supports integration, humility, and listening —allowing participants to complete the retreat journey rooted in ancestral territory, simplicity, and deep respect for the Earth.

The Team

Carlos Esteban Rojas Rondon

Carlos has his roots in the countryside of Venezuela. He is a co-founder of the Mukari Community Project and the creator of a line of ancestral medicines that integrate plants from the Amazon, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the Andes, and southern Chile.

For over 11 years, he has walked alongside Indigenous spiritual authorities, elders, and traditional healers from different territories, who have recognized his commitment, discipline, and clarity to responsibly carry the path of medicine. Through these teachings, Carlos has prepared sacred remedies — including perfumes, ointments, tonics, and medicinal preparations — shared with love and respect, and used to support emotional, energetic, and spiritual healing.

His path has been endorsed by Indigenous authorities, including through formal ancestral governmental recognition. In the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Carlos maintains close relationships with governors and traditional leaders, with whom he continues to learn, serve, and walk in mutual respect.

Carlos’ mission is not to create followers, but to support each person in remembering their own inner medicine. Mukari was born as a vision received along his path and now lives through remedies, teachings, and community work devoted to honoring the ancestors, serving the Earth, and accompanying deep transformation.

Sofia Dagg

Sofia is a medicine woman born in Ireland, bearer of a Celtic lineage rooted in nature and feminine spirituality. She is a co-founder of the Mukari Community Project, shaped by years of study in intentional communities and embodied healing practices that integrate spiritual knowledge into everyday life.

She teaches about the elements of fire, air, earth, and water as guides for personal development, spiritual awareness, and embodiment. Her work includes books, courses, and workshops offered internationally. Sofia’s training spans several continents, including work with Indigenous healers in Zimbabwe, Irish shamanic lineages, natural birth practices in South Africa, and Yagé traditions in Colombia.

Alongside her ceremonial and community work, Sofia works with oracle and tarot as tools for reflection and remembrance, supporting people to reconnect with the truth within. Through her YouTube channel, she shares channeled messages and teachings that invite deeper listening and self-trust.

With extensive experience holding group spaces and facilitating retreats, Sofia is known for creating well-contained, grounded environments that support meaningful transformation while remaining rooted in everyday life. At this stage of her work, her focus is on anchoring the elemental wisdom she has shared over the past seven years into the lived experience of community through the Mukari project.

Taita Isidro Lucitante

A wise elder of the spiritual lineage of the Cofan community of Lower Putumayo, and leader of the Cofán Avie Reserva Ancestral. From a young age, he learned the art and science of ancestral medicine under the guidance of his father, the powerful and renowned curaca Guillermo Lucitante. He knows the secrets and rules for working with the jungle’s sacred plants, serves as a healer for other traditional doctors, and guides those willing to answer the call with both care and firmness. He is an ancient master of the forest.
